Backyards

The residential backyard install is what we do most. Eight hundred square feet behind a Boca duplex or twelve thousand behind a Bay Colony estate — the surface looks the same to a guest, but the spec underneath is sized to the property.

Two failure modes drive the engineering. First is sun: UV breaks down low-grade polyethylene yarns in five to seven years on the South Florida exposure index. We install only Made-in-USA monofilament yarns with a 15-year UV warranty. Second is water: South Florida sees thirty-inch-an-hour rain events; the subgrade has to drain laterally, not pond. We crown the base 1% and use a flow-through backing throughout.

A typical backyard install is four to six days on site. Day one is demo of the existing sod, irrigation, and any failed pavers. Days two and three are base — three to four inches of compacted crushed concrete to a level surveyed at ¼-inch tolerance. Days four and five are turf install, seaming, and infill. Day six is cleanup, walkthrough, and homeowner orientation on grooming.
